Established in 1954, Empire Building Materials is a wholesale distributor of building products that sells to retail lumber yards and home centers throughout Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Washington. Empire Building Materials maintains its corporate headquarters in Bozeman Montana, and has distribution facilities in both Bozeman and Missoula Montana. Responsibilities

As Product manager you will be responsible for participating and supporting daily sales activities. Taking orders, initiating sales and working as a team member in order to meet customer’s needs. Each Product manager is responsible for managing their assigned product lines, including purchasing, monitoring inventory levels, pricing, and promoting their product lines. Monitor marketplace trends and develops appropriate sales and marketing strategies. Communicate market fluctuations and trends to customers. Assist outside sales staff in developing and executing marketing programs and promotions. Coordinates product education to co-workers and performs new product research while cultivating new vendors to stay current with the evolving market place. Interact with vendors as necessary to maintain relationships and to provide support to our customers questions and concerns. Perform other work-related duties as assigned by your supervisor and adapt to changes that occur during the course of employment.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications: College degree or equivalent work experience in a related field or a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the building materials industry or a related job function. Comprehensive building products knowledge preferred. Ability to understand and apply mathematical calculations pertaining to purchasing and selling. Ability to work independently as well as with teams, be self-motivated and must have effective communicational skills. Basic computer skills. Must be able to travel occasionally.

Competencies: Detailed orientated, understand profit/loss as it pertains to sales and inventory. Sales ability and persuasiveness along with the ability to build strong working relationships. Adaptability, decision making, negotiating, risk taking, and ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
