What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Support Specialist position at Empereon Marketing?
Summary
This position reports directly to the IT Helpdesk Lead. The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing front-line hardware, software and infrastructure IT support to company end-users. In addition, the IT Support Specialist will provide secondary day-to-day support to the integrated IT Department at the discretion of IT leadership.
- Gather detailed information regarding issues from on-site hardware/software installations
- Assist on-site and remote personnel in their day-to-day desktop/network support needs
- Deploy (sysprep) computers, install associated software applications, configure hardware, peripherals, and settings to company configuration standards
- Assist with repair and recovery from hardware/software failures.
- Communicate with technical fluency network and system failures
- Provide IT logistics support for shipping of computer systems and peripherals in support of remote workforce operations.
- Assist with overall site support, when needed, to handle administrative support
- Other tasks as assigned
Working Conditions:
- Standing/ Walking: Periodically throughout the workday on hard floor surface.
- Sitting: Frequently in the office and during breaks and lunchtime.
- Hands/Arms: Constantly in use throughout the workday. Frequent use of computer and other office equipment.
- Lifting: Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Carrying: Occasionally carrying items for up to 50'.
- Bending/Twisting: Occasionally at the hips and knees to lift miscellaneous items, however squatting is recommended.
- Kneeling/Crawling: Kneeling can be performed occasionally to lift miscellaneous items, however squatting recommended.
- Reaching: Occasionally reaching is performed to reach overhead or to retrieve items from a top shelf.
- Work- site conditions: The work is performed inside a call center environment.
- Unusual Working Conditions: Must be able to work occasionally on evenings, weekends, holidays, 6-day workweeks, and back-to-back shifts when needed.

- Practical experience with Microsoft Suite products
- Practical understanding and practical application of network support in an office environment
- Ability to troubleshoot network related issues without assistance
- Ability to interpret and discuss information with individuals or groups involving terminology and concepts of a technical nature
- Ability to provide advice and recommend actions involving technical issues
- Ability to work successfully in the high stress environment of a call center
- Ability to be flexible and proactive if goals and objectives change
- Ability to troubleshoot, create and install network cabling
- Ability to work effectively with others
- Ability to proficiently use a computer and software related to job function
- Understanding of standard networking concepts including DNS and DHCP
- Understanding of network security concepts and practices in a third-party audited environment
- Understanding of IP telephony configuration and networking concepts.
