Qualifications
Knowledge Of:
- Credit Union’s products and services.
- Credit Union policies and procedures pertaining to loan servicing.
- Real Estate underwriting criteria.
- Utilize the credit union's data processing capability in loading new loan information in the system.
- Operate the kinds of office equipment normally found in a lending operation, such as: adding machine, telephone, fax machine, photocopier, and personal computer.
- Operate a PC using the following software applications Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Refer credit union products and services based on member needs.
- Process a steady workload under strict time constraints.
- Process Real Estate Loans.
- Understand and interpret information required to remain in compliance with secondary market underwriting criteria.
- Analyze appraisals, debt to income, and an understanding of qualities that affect credit worthiness.

- Reviews first mortgage applications in the Credit Union mortgage processing system for accuracy.
- Assures application fees, appraisal fees and other fees related to the processing of a mortgage loan are collected and processed according to policies and procedures.
- Manages and prioritizes individual pipeline of loans on a daily basis in order to ensure closing dates and company deadlines are met.
- Order the following documentation as necessary: Verification of Employment, Evidence of Insurance, Payoffs, Tax Transcripts, Credit Supplements, condo questionnaires, subordination requests, and Title Work as needed for each file
- Reviews and processes all income, assets, collateral and liability documentation to ensure the mortgage request meets the requirements established in the credit union or investor’s policies.
- Assists members via the phone by answering calls in the Mortgage Operations department queue.
- Corresponds with or interviews applicant, creditors, realtors and vendors, when needed, to resolve questions regarding application information
- Ensure compliance with lending regulations, internal policies and underwriting guidelines
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential red flags or fraudulent activities
- Responsible for determining and issuing the credit decision on the loan application and issuing conditions, as needed, for a complete file.
- Prepares and clears residual conditions required to approve and document the loan.
- Schedules closing dates and times as needed. Prepares the file for closing.
- Obtains and reviews preliminary title commitment from title companies
- Review and respond to internal and external audits.
