Accountant – Richfield, OH (Onsite)

Empaco Equipment Corporation is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage multi-state tax compliance, regulatory reporting, and financial accounting activities. This role is responsible for sales and use tax filings, Ohio CAT reporting, audit support, GAAP-compliant financial reporting, and internal controls. The Accountant will work closely with operations and leadership, support ERP system initiatives, and help improve accounting processes within a growing, family-owned organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• 5 years of general ledger and accounting experience, preferably in construction, real estate, or related industries, including multi-state tax compliance and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Strong knowledge of sales/use tax and state compliance requirements.
• Experience with CAT filings, BWC audits, and insurance audits preferred.
• Experience supporting software system transitions or ERP implementations.
• Demonstrated experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics SL, QuickBooks, ADP).
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work onsite five days per week.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
