About the Role
EMP Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a school-based assignment in Orangeburg, South Carolina for the 2026–2027 school year. The School RN will support student health needs, provide routine and urgent nursing care, maintain health records, and collaborate with school staff and families to promote a safe and healthy learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to students during the school day.
- Assess and respond to illnesses, injuries, and medical needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Maintain accurate student health records and documentation.
- Support students with chronic health conditions and individualized care plans.
- Communicate with parents, staff, and healthcare providers as needed.
- Follow school health policies, infection-control practices, and nursing standards.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Active South Carolina RN license required.
- Current BLS certification preferred.
- School nursing, pediatric, or community health experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and clinical judgment skills.
- Ability to work independently in a school-based setting.
Compensation
- $50.00 per hour.
- Estimated weekly pay of $1,875 based on 37.5 hours.
- Estimated annualized earnings of $97,500 based on a 52-week equivalent schedule.
- 35-week school-year contract.
