The Role
We are seeking a process and detailed oriented Engineering Change & Document Control Coordinator to support our efforts in managing engineering documentation and driving change control processes. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of document control systems, coordinating engineering change activities, and ensuring compliance with internal and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate is a data-driven innovator passionate about process optimization, documentation accuracy, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
What You’ll Do
- Document Control Management: Organize, maintain, and audit the Document Control Library, including engineering drawings, specifications, standards, program books, PPAP files, and other technical documentation. Ensure all documentation conforms to revision control, template standards, and AIAG compliance.
- Cross-Functional Document Coordination: Coordinate, monitor, and expedite the flow of documents across departments and with customers. Manage and maintain documents such as Control Plans, PFMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams, Line Balances, Operator Work Instructions, and JESs.
- Quality Systems Monitoring: Schedule, monitor, and track Layered Process Audit (LPA) performance and distribute records. Monitor internal and customer corrective action submissions and ensure timely responses to quality-related issues.
- Customer & Supplier Interface: Monitor customer databases (GM SupplyPower, Covisint, Ford, Chrysler, etc.) for complaints and bulletins and notify management accordingly. Update Supplier, Service, and Customer PPAP submission information in Trans4M.
- Engineering Change Management: Maintain the Engineering Change Management Tracking system and document control for active/obsolete records. Attend and conduct engineering change meetings, track deliverables, and communicate risks to management.
- Communication & Collaboration: Attend department meetings, record minutes, and foster teamwork across disciplines. Follow up with departments to ensure engineering releases are documented and executed per timing requirements.
- Compliance, Safety & Special Projects: Document all activities as required and adhere to company safety guidelines. Complete special projects and any additional responsibilities assigned by management.
- High school diploma required; college or technical training preferred
- 3 years of experience in Quality Systems or Engineering preferred
- Familiar with manufacturing processes and CAD software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Strong communicator across teams and with customers
