Description

The Complex and High-Risk Interventional Procedures (CHIP) fellowship at Emory is a one-year, non-ACGME-accredited fellowship designed to provide advanced training in complex, high-risk and chronic total occlusion (CTO) percutaneous coronary intervention. The fellowship is directed by William Nicholson, MD. The program will provide hand-on experience in high-risk PCI including patients with reduced ventricular function and high-risk coronary anatomy, antegrade and retrograde CTO revascularization, atherectomy and mechanical circulatory support. The center is routinely selected to demonstrate live cases for major academic conferences and training courses, and fellows will have an opportunity to actively participate in these cases. Additionally, fellows will engage in clinical and translational research with guidance from accomplished faculty.

Following completion of the CHIP fellowship, trainees will have the necessary skills to become independent operators in complex, high-risk and CTO PCI.
