Job Summary:
We are looking for a dependable, motivated, and skilled Baker/Kitchen Associate to join our team for the fall season. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys baking from scratch, takes pride in producing high-quality products, and thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
As a Baker/Kitchen Associate, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of our homemade baked goods and seasonal favorites, including biscuits, pies, breads, candy apples, and other specialty items. Attention to detail, consistency, cleanliness, and food safety are essential in this role. Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen is a critical part of this position, and all team members are expected to take pride in keeping their work area clean and food-safe throughout every shift.
This position requires early morning hours to ensure freshly baked products are available for customers when we open. Start times are flexible, provided all baked goods are prepared and stocked on the sales floor by, or shortly after, opening each day.
Schedule:
- Early morning position.
- Daily shifts are typically 4 or more hours, depending on production needs and seasonal demand.
- Employees should expect to work approximately 4-5 days per week throughout the season.
- Weekday and weekend availability is required, as weekends are among our busiest times of the year.
- Start times are flexible, provided all baked goods are prepared and stocked on the sales floor by, or shortly after, opening each day.
- Additional hours may be available during peak harvest periods, holidays, and other high-volume times.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of homemade products by accurately following established recipes and procedures.
- Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients while maintaining consistency and quality standards.
- Bake breads, pies, biscuits, candy apples, and other seasonal baked goods to company specifications.
- Monitor baking times and oven temperatures to ensure products are properly prepared.
- Decorate, package, label, and prepare finished baked goods for display and sale.
- Wash, sort, freeze, and package fresh berries according to company quality and food safety standards.
- Assist with seasonal food preparation, packaging, and preservation of produce as needed.
- Monitor baking and kitchen supplies and communicate inventory needs to management.
- Receive, rotate, and properly store ingredients and supplies using safe food handling practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen and work area throughout each shift and at closing.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Work efficiently to meet daily production goals while maintaining high quality standards.
- Assist with other kitchen, food preparation, and production duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in baking, food production, commercial kitchens, or food service is preferred but not required.
- Passion for baking and creating quality homemade products.
- Knowledge of food safety and proper sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing time effectively.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to work with a variety of ingredients and kitchen equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and remain standing for extended periods.
- Due to the operation of commercial baking equipment, applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Start Date: Approximately August 17th, 2026
End Date: Approximately October 15th, 2026
This is a seasonal position for the rest of our 2026 season. Outstanding seasonal employees are encouraged to return each year and may also have opportunities for continued employment during the off-season.
Off-Season Opportunities
Employees who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, and a positive attitude may be considered for year-round employment opportunities within one of our sister companies. Off-season positions may be available in the kitchen at one of our affiliated hotels, allowing qualified team members to continue working beyond the season, and return to our store during the summer.
