POSITION: Deputy Airport Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Pellston Airport
SUPERVISOR: Airport Director
RATE OF PAY: $20.69 NBU
LOCATION: Pellston Airport
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day office activities of the airport. Activities include, but are not limited to; record keeping, record disposition, report generation, accounting, social media coordination, event planning, and purchasing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Works closely with contracted airport staff and airport director to ensure clear communication in daily operational objectives for work order entry and follow-up, purchasing requirements, sales batch reporting, and customer service
- Assists in the accounting for airport projects and grants utilizing county, state and federal systems
- Communicates daily with the public, various governmental agencies, and airport tenants via phone, email, and social media and in person interaction
- Assists in processing of tenant lease paperwork and agreements
- Assists in purchasing process, to include but not limited to; obtaining quotes from vendors, and initiating purchase orders for approval, and requests for proposals/qualifications
- Monitors and reports on airport supply inventory levels
- Assists with monitoring and coordinating airport compliance schedules
- Assists with airport record keeping and disposition
- Responsible for gathering data and generating key metric reports for fuel sales, air traffic operations, commercial passenger enplanements, and work order completion
- Responsible for in processing and issuance of airport badges and business permits
- Responsible for work order entry and follow-up in the county facilities management express (FMX) software
- Assists in communication and coordination of emergencies on airport
- Prepares communications for airport stakeholders to include; agendas, minutes and newsletters

- Demonstrated knowledge of FAA airport compliance schedules

- Demonstrated skill in customer service, to include; collecting payments, following up on past due accounts, clearly explaining policies and procedures
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Graduation from a college or university with a major in business administration, finance, accounting, or other field appropriate to airport administration activities is desirable, but not required; or a combination of education, training, and work experience that demonstrates an ability to meet the requirements of this job
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience at an airport, with knowledge of the day-to-day activities preferred
Certification/Licenses Required
- Airport Certified Employee (ACE) Finance designation with the American Association of Airport Executives is desirable, but not required
- Ability to obtain ACE Finance designation within 24 months
