- Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy across all financial accounts.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable efficiently while ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Record journal entries accurately, including debits & credits, and ensure they comply with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to verify the correctness of financial data.
- Assist with payroll processing, tax preparation, and governmental reporting requirements.
- Generate detailed financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to support decision-making.
- Support budgeting activities by analyzing expenses and preparing variance reports.
- Perform double-entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities for prompt resolution.
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken is essential.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting practices, and governmental accounting procedures.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and technical accounting concepts is required.
- Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation is necessary.
- Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes and payroll management.
- Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently for data entry tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Prior experience in public accounting or working within a professional finance environment is highly desirable.
