Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of patient rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas using approved cleaning agents and equipment
- Ensure all surfaces, floors, windows, and fixtures are cleaned to meet hospital or facility standards for hygiene and safety
- Follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others
- Conduct floor care procedures including stripping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming, and carpet cleaning to preserve the appearance and longevity of flooring surfaces
- Properly handle waste disposal and hazardous materials in accordance with environmental services protocols
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, supplies used, and safety inspections
- Respond promptly to spillages or sanitation issues to prevent hazards or contamination
Qualifications
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare or commercial settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to cleaning and sanitation practices
- Experience with floor care techniques such as stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet extraction
- Strong understanding of environmental services procedures within hospital or healthcare environments
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
