Position Overview
The Daycare Attendant is responsible for providing safe, attentive, and engaging care to dogs in both daycare and boarding environments. This role requires strong animal handling skills, the ability to work independently, and clear communication with both team members and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Daycare Attendant Duties
- Supervise small groups of dogs independently in a safe and controlled environment
- Supervise larger groups of dogs alongside teammates in a safe and controlled environment
- Monitor dog behavior and intervene appropriately to maintain a safe playgroup
- Safely handle, leash, and control dogs weighing up to 150 lbs
- Provide fresh water, meals, and administer medications (independently or with assistance as needed)
- Transition dogs safely between play areas, kennels, and outdoor spaces
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment (yards, kennels, common areas)
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding dog behavior, health, and daily updates
- Interact professionally and clearly with clients when needed
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and be on your feet for up to 6 hours per shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and/or 50 lbs with assistance
- Ability to safely handle and control dogs up to 150 lbs
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, humidity, cold, rain, snow, etc.)
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as bending, lifting, crouching, and reaching
· Ability to move quickly and react immediately to prevent or break up unsafe dog interactions
· Ability to tolerate exposure to water, shampoo, cleaning chemicals, and dog hair/dander
· Ability to hear and respond to auditory cues in a loud environment (barking, equipment, staff directions)
· Ability to withstand strong odors (dogs, cleaning products, waste)
· Ability to work in physically and mentally demanding situations for extended periods
· Ability to maintain stamina and focus in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
- Fast-paced, active environment with constant movement
- Exposure to barking dogs and other equipment
- Indoor and outdoor work required
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in a loud setting

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
