The Vice President of Technology is the technology leader helping to shape the future of our organization through innovation, operational excellence, and strategic technology leadership. The Vice President of Technology leads the development and execution of enterprise technology strategy across construction operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies. This executive leadership role will collaborate with operational leaders, construction teams, and executive leadership to align technology investments with business objectives, enhance project delivery capabilities, improve operational efficiency, and position BLDR as an industry technology leader. The Vice President of Tech combines strategic vision, operational understanding, and strong relationship management skills with a deep knowledge of construction technology ecosystems, enterprise systems, and digital transformation initiatives within the AEC industry.


Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Technology Leadership

  • Develop and execute a multi-year enterprise technology roadmap aligned with BLDR’s vision, yearly strategy, and operational objectives.
  • Partner with executive leadership, operations, and business leaders to translate business strategy into scalable technology solutions supported by ROI analysis and effective project execution.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, AI solutions, automation opportunities, and digital innovation initiatives that improve operational performance and client outcomes.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on technology trends, risks, opportunities, and investment priorities.


Construction Technology & Operational Enablement

  • Lead and advance BLDR’s construction technology initiatives across various companies and effect project management, field operations, BIM/VDC, collaboration platforms, and operational systems.
  • Drive integration and interoperability across the enterprise, construction, financial, and operational technology platforms.
  • Work across multiple subsidiaries to implement scalable systems and best practices while balancing enterprise consistency with local operational needs.
  • Lead organizational change management efforts to support successful implementation and adoption of technology initiatives throughout the organization.


Infrastructure, Cybersecurity & Enterprise Systems

  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of enterprise infrastructure, applications, cloud environments, and operational systems.
  • Lead enterprise cybersecurity strategy, governance, risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning to protect company assets and operations.
  • Oversee technology policies, standards, audit practices, and vendor risk management processes.
  • Advance enterprise data strategy, reporting, analytics, and systems integration capabilities to improve visibility, forecasting, and decision-making.



Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to technology professionals across infrastructure, applications, support services, and construction technology functions.
  • Build, develop, and retain high-performing teams while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and attract top talent while leveraging strategic vendor and consulting partnerships.
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships that enable collaboration, trust, and organizational alignment.


Vendor & Financial Management

  • Develop and manage technology budgets, ensuring effective prioritization of investments and operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and industry partners.
  • Negotiate vendor agreements, software licensing, and service contracts to maximize value and performance.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related technical field required
  • 10 years of progressive technology leadership experience, including senior leadership responsibilities within construction, engineering, or professional services organizations.
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, project delivery workflows, and AEC technology ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise technology strategy, digital transformation initiatives, and organizational change management efforts.
  • Experience with construction ERP, project management, BIM/VDC, artificial intelligence, and operational technology platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity programs, systems integration, and data management practices.
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams aligned with strategic business objectives.
  • Demonstrated success managing technology budgets, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations.
  • Executive presence with communication, presentation, relationship management, and collaboration skills.
  • Current knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovation within the construction and technology sectors.
