Maintenance Technician

• Position: Maintenance Technician
• Location: California
• Employment Type: Full-time
• Start Date: ASAP
• Total Hours Per Week: 35–40 hours per week
• Duration of Contract: New School Year 2025–26

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on school buildings, classrooms, and equipment
• Inspect and troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
• Assist with setup and breakdown for school events and special activities
• Maintain clean and safe work areas in compliance with health and safety standards
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
• Perform basic carpentry, painting, and general building upkeep as needed
• Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and tools
• Collaborate with administrative and custodial staff to ensure facilities are well maintained
• Report and document maintenance activities, repairs, and safety concerns

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade certification preferred
• Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field preferred
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems
• Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow safety protocols at all times
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required
