Assignment Details
- Position: Librarian
- Location: California
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Start Date: ASAP
- Total Hours Per Week: 35-40 hours per week
- Duration of Contract: New School Year 2025–26
- Manage and organize the school library, ensuring a welcoming and engaging environment for students and staff
- Assist students and teachers in locating and using print and digital resources
- Promote reading and literacy through creative programs, book fairs, and reading challenges
- Develop and maintain a diverse library collection that reflects the needs and interests of the school community
- Instruct students on library use, research techniques, and responsible digital citizenship
- Collaborate with teachers to support classroom learning and curriculum goals
- Maintain accurate inventory and circulation records of library materials
- Supervise students in the library and assist with technology use as needed
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) or equivalent preferred
- Valid California teaching credential or librarian certification preferred
- Experience working in a school or educational library setting is desirable
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to foster a love of reading and lifelong learning in students
- Knowledge of children’s and young adult literature and educational technology tools
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families
