What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Accounts Officer position at Emesent?
Emesent is seeking a proactive and detail‑driven Junior Accountant / Accounts Assistant to take ownership of the full end‑to‑end Accounts Payable (AP) function, manage supplier master data, credit applications, and support the finance team with basic accounting and reconciliation tasks. This role offers structured processes, accuracy, and exposure to broader accounting operations.
\nAccounts Payable – Full Function
- End‑to‑end AP processing (invoice intake, coding, matching, approvals, payments)
- Supplier master data maintenance
- Weekly payment runs
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- AP inbox management and vendor queries
- AP ageing analysis and month‑end cut‑off
Credit Application & Onboarding
- Process supplier and customer credit applications
- Conduct basic credit checks
- Set up new suppliers/customers in system
- Maintain credit files and onboarding documentation
- Liaise with sales, procurement, and operations
Junior Accounting & Reconciliation Support
- Bank reconciliation, credit card, and employee reimbursement vetting
- Basic journals (accruals, prepayments)
- Month‑end support
- Balance sheet reconciliation assistance
General Finance Support
- Audit support
- Process improvement
- General administrative duties
- 1–2 years AP or junior accounting experience
- Understanding of AP, credit applications, and basic accounting
- Accounting software experience (Xero, MYOB, SAP, NetSuite, etc.)
- Strong Excel and data handling skills
- Self starter, high attention to detail and excellent communication skills
