Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver/Driver Assistant to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating vehicles, including vans and 16ft Box trucks, to transport goods efficiently and comfortably. Duties
- Safely operate vans and box truck on local routes and scheduled catering drop offs.
- Navigate using GPS systems to ensure timely arrivals and departures while adhering to all traffic laws and state transportation regulations
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are maintained
- Communicate effectively with clients and staff regarding schedules, routes, and any delays or issues that may arise
- Load and unload cargo carefully, including moderate lifting when necessary
- Support the driver in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the vehicle interior and exterior
Experience
- Proven delivery driver experience or shuttle driving background demonstrating safe driving practices
- Experience operating vans, or box trucks
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning
- Knowledge of local driving routes, traffic regulations, and state transportation laws
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with diverse clients
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes
- Previous experience in medical transportation or paratransit services is a plus
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type with a clean driving record
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining professionalism under pressure
