JOB SUMMARY
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations - Start and stop process equipment and operations in accordance with production schedules or as required by existing conditions. Monitor process operations and make adjustments as required to maintain product quality, optimize the process or keep the process within safe operating parameters. Make periodic rounds to inspect the process for proper operation, checking for abnormal conditions - take action as necessary to alleviate any issues. Collect periodic samples and use analysis equipment to measure quality parameters. Includes the operation of steam turbine (requires stationary engineer’s license)
Safety - Be familiar with all plant safety requirements and perform all responsibilities according to the safety requirements of the plant SH&E manual. Complete monthly safety training and attend all required safety meetings. Participate in Job safety Analysis when required. Comply with PSM requirements for Operators.
Quality - Properly and accurately prepare all paperwork, blend calculations and SAP entries.
Admin - Perform housekeeping requirements on each shift to ensure the control room and work areas are clean and safe to work in.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma
Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience (preferably related to chemical processing in a PSM facility)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working Hours/Environment:
Rotating 12-Hour Shifts. These operators work additional shifts or hours to cover absences.
Work involves Indoor and Outdoor Activities. The operator deals with dust, heat/cold conditions, elevated heights, noise, odors while performing this job. Area includes processing with Methanol, a flammable liquid and Ammonia, a hazardous gas.
Tools and Equipment Used:
Wrenches, screw drivers, channel locks, shovels, floor scrapers, hand scrapers, bag knifes, water hoses, stainless steel braided jumpers, bung wrenches and brooms are all used at various times performing the job.
Hard hats, rubber gloves, safety shoes, rubber boots, goggles, face shields, safety glasses, full-face respirator and ear plugs must all be worn at some point in time.

Physical & Mental Demands:
- Frequent bending, squatting, reaching and stair-climbing. Occasional kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, balancing.
- Frequent lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lifting weights up to 75 pounds.
- Frequent carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasionally carrying weights up to 75 pounds.
- Routinely grasping, pushing, pulling, writing, printing, keyboarding, twisting, feeling.
- Frequent reading, writing, reasoning, performing mathematical operations, troubleshooting, problem-solving. Requires interfacing with computer.
- Must be able to pass Stationary Engineer License Exam.
- Must be able to wear full-face respirator.
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Must be able to work 12 hour rotating shifts, (DuPont Schedule).
