What You’ll Do
As a Clinical Social Worker, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality behavioral health care by:
- Conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments for psychiatric and substance use disorder inpatients
- Providing family support, counseling, and intervention to patients and their loved ones
- Developing and coordinating discharge and aftercare plans, including community referrals and support services
- Collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team to ensure holistic, patient-centered care
- Educating patients and families on treatment plans, resources, and next steps
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
- Providing clinical supervision to students (if appropriately licensed)
- Upholding patient confidentiality and adhering to all regulatory and hospital policies
What You Bring
Required Education
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited school of social work
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical social work experience (including relevant fieldwork)
- LCSW or LICSW preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Healthcare Provider required
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification required within 30 days of hire
- Strong foundation in clinical social work practice
- Ability to complete and document psychosocial assessments effectively
- Knowledge of:
- Psychiatric terminology and DSM criteria
- Basics of psychopharmacology
- Mandated reporting requirements
- Hospital systems and community-based resources
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer systems
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
