Job Description

Director, Enterprise Program Delivery

Overview

We are seeking an exceptional client delivery leader to serve as the “manager of the engagement” for complex enterprise learning, leadership development, and transformation programs.

This individual will take end-to-end ownership for the success of high-profile client engagements, ensuring that every aspect of delivery—from strategy and planning to execution and stakeholder management—is aligned, coordinated, and moving forward. They will serve as the central orchestrator across clients, faculty, learning designers, operations teams, producers, and executive stakeholders, creating clarity, accountability, and momentum across multiple interconnected workstreams.

The ideal candidate combines the structured thinking and proactive planning often found in top consulting firms with the practical execution skills needed to deliver complex programs in fast-moving environments. They are constantly thinking several steps ahead, anticipating risks before they emerge, solving problems before they escalate, and ensuring that both clients and internal teams remain aligned and confident throughout the engagement.

This is not a traditional project management role. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of outcomes, not just timelines; someone who views every engagement as their business to run and is personally accountable for its success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Manager of the Engagement
  • Take end-to-end ownership for the successful delivery of complex client programs.
  • Act as the central point of coordination across all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure every workstream, deliverable, decision, and stakeholder interaction supports overall program success.
  • Anticipate challenges, identify risks early, and proactively drive solutions.
  • Create structure and clarity in environments characterized by ambiguity and competing priorities.

Enterprise Program Leadership

  • Lead large-scale, multi-workstream engagements from initial design through final delivery.
  • Develop and maintain integrated program plans that align stakeholders, resources, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Manage complex dependencies across learning design, faculty, production, operations, technology, and client teams.
  • Establish governance processes, operating rhythms, and communication plans that keep programs on track.
  • Monitor program health and proactively address issues before they impact delivery.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary day-to-day partner for enterprise clients.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders ranging from program managers to senior executives.
  • Facilitate planning sessions, status meetings, executive briefings, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Navigate changing priorities and stakeholder expectations with professionalism and confidence.
  • Ensure clients consistently feel informed, supported, and confident in program execution.

Internal Leadership and Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Drive accountability across teams without relying on direct authority.
  • Align diverse internal stakeholders around shared priorities and deadlines.
  • Coordinate resources across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Facilitate decision-making and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Risk Management and Problem Solving

  • Identify potential delivery, stakeholder, operational, and resource risks before they become issues.
  • Develop mitigation plans and contingency strategies.
  • Lead crisis management and issue resolution efforts when challenges arise.
  • Maintain composure and sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
  • Ensure leadership rarely learns about problems from the client first.

What Success Looks Like

Successful candidates:

  • Think three steps ahead rather than reacting to events.
  • Operate with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
  • Create clarity and momentum in complex environments.
  • Build credibility quickly with both clients and internal teams.
  • Drive accountability without creating unnecessary process.
  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture.
  • Consistently deliver outstanding client experiences.

Specific Indicators Of Success Include

  • Clients view you as a trusted partner rather than a project coordinator.
  • Internal teams know exactly what is expected and when.
  • Risks are identified and addressed before they become issues.
  • Stakeholders remain aligned despite changing priorities and complexity.
  • Programs run smoothly because someone is always thinking several steps ahead.
  • The engagement consistently achieves its objectives, timeline, and quality standards.

Preferred Background

  • We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:
  • Management consulting
  • Enterprise transformation programs
  • Professional services delivery
  • Client services leadership
  • Organizational change initiatives
  • Learning and leadership development programs
  • Strategy and operations roles
  • Experience in consulting environments such as Deloitte, Accenture, EY, PwC, KPMG, or similar organizations is highly valued.

Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience in consulting, program leadership, client delivery, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Exceptional project and program management capabilities.
  • Strong executive presence and client-facing communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive accountability without direct authority.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage ambiguity, complexity, and competing priorities.
  • Strong business judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Traits We Value
  • Ownership mentality
  • Proactive rather than reactive
  • Structured and strategic thinker
  • Highly organized
  • Calm under pressure
  • Strong business judgment
  • Exceptional communicator
  • Detail-oriented
  • Resourceful and adaptable
  • Naturally collaborative
  • Comfortable operating in fast-changing environments
