Pathologist Physician - Milwaukee VAMC

Emerging Tech is seeking one contracted Pathologist Physician to support the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. This physician will deliver services consistent with national standards established by the American Board of Pathology (ABPATH) and will function as a credentialed provider within the VA system. The position is contracted, meaning the individual will not be an employee of the VA, but rather supplied by Emerging Tech to ensure the VA has continuous access to high-quality Anatomic Pathology expertise. 

Responsibilities and Duties    

• Provide professional services in Anatomic and Surgical Pathology. 

• Meet turnaround time requirements for surgical pathology and other cases per VHA policy. 

• Ensure compliance with standards of CAP, TJC, FDA, AABB, and VHA Pathology procedures. 

• Document care directly into the VA’s electronic health record systems (VISTA/CPRS). 

• Apply specialized knowledge and skills to deliver Veteran-centered pathology care. 

• Participate in departmental quality assurance and performance improvement programs. 

• Contribute to interdisciplinary case reviews and clinical team meetings as required. 

• Be available for on-call consultation as defined by service needs. 

Qualifications & Administrative 

Education & Experience

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
• Board certification in Anatomic Pathology (ABPATH/ASCP). 
• Minimum of five years of recent experience (within the past three years). 

• Full and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. State, Territory, or D.C.
• Credentialing and privileges approved by the Milwaukee VAMC.  ​​​​​​

• Proficient in written/spoken English (38 USC 7402). 
• Computer literate; able to use VISTA/CPRS systems for patient records.
