Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Electrical or Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Lead Technical Sales Director. This is a unique hybrid role where your engineering expertise will be directly applied to sales, enabling you to become a trusted technical advisor to our key customers and prospects.
You will work closely with our senior staff to drive business growth by identifying opportunities, establishing relationships, and providing technical leadership throughout the sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Sales Leadership: Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and our Sales Reps in the Military, UAV, Robotic and Industrial markets.
- Solution Development: Collaborate with customers to understand their unique power requirements and translate those needs into concrete, high-quality custom battery pack specifications.
- Business Development: Actively prospect and manage a pipeline of new accounts while nurturing relationships with existing clients to maximize sales.
- Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with our internal engineering team to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, compliant, and meet performance standards.
- Presentation & Negotiation: Deliver compelling technical presentations and proposals, negotiate terms, and close sales contracts.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or 5 to 10 years experience in a related technical field.
- Required Citizenship: US Citizenship is mandatory due to our ITAR registration and work with defense-related technologies.
- Experience: Proven capability in a technical sales role, ideally selling complex engineered products or components.
- Location: Willingness to work from our facility in Hackensack, New Jersey.
- Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Highly Desired
- Battery Design Familiarity: Prior experience or familiarity with battery cell chemistry, battery pack design principles, battery management systems (BMS), and safety standards.
- Experience selling into one or more of our key target markets (Military, UAV/Aerospace, Medical, Robotics).
- Military service and/or DoD experience
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: $125,000 – $150,000 plus performance incentives
- Comprehensive bonus and benefits package
