Emergent Learning Clinic is seeking a passionate and driven Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who wants to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families.

In this role, you’ll provide high-quality, individualized ABA services while working alongside a collaborative and supportive clinical team. You’ll also receive mentorship from a PhD-level BCBA and hands-on experience with evidence-based curricula, including PEAK Relational Training System and AIM.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and skills assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and skill acquisition programs.
  • Analyze data and make data-driven treatment decisions.
  • Provide training, consultation, and support to parents, caregivers, and team members.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate Behavior Technicians and RBTs, including providing ongoing feedback.
  • Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.
  • Uphold ethical, consistent, and high-quality clinical standards across all areas of practice in accordance with BACB guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certifications:

  • Master’s degree in ABA, Psychology, Special Education, or related field is required. Behavior Analysis emphasis is preferred.
  • National Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred. We also welcome applications from candidates who are in the final stages of completing a master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and are actively working toward BCBA certification.
  • Active Iowa licensure as a Behavior Analyst or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Current CPR, HIPAA, and Mandatory Reporter (child and dependent adult abuse) certifications preferred, or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Preferred Skills:

  • 1 year of experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
  • Experience supervising RBTs or Behavior Technicians.
  • BACB supervision certification.
  • Previous experience as an RBT.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with children, families, and team members, and provide constructive, supportive feedback to clinical staff.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Open to feedback and committed to ongoing professional growth.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Behaviors: Must be comfortable working in an environment where challenging or aggressive behaviors may occur, while maintaining composure and staying calm under pressure.
  • Lifting ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. This position involves physical care which may require moving children between the ages of 12-48 months.
  • Mobility: Ability to move freely and quickly around a room, including kneeling, squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, and sitting on the floor. Must be able to transition quickly from sitting to standing as needed.
  • Physical endurance: Ability to maintain physical activity for extended periods, especially when working with clients who may require frequent movement or redirection. This includes walking quickly, jogging short distances, and tolerating long periods on your feet (15 minutes minimum).
  • Dexterity: Good hand coordination for data collection on electronic devices.
  • Visual acuity: Clear vision to observe client behaviors and monitor data.
  • Auditory tolerance: Must be comfortable working in a high-noise environment for extended periods. This can include laughing, squealing, crying, yelling, etc.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must pass a background check, including criminal history and child/dependent adult abuse screenings.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide proof of eligibility at the time of hire and as required thereafter (as applicable).
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality regarding clients, families, and staff.
