✨ Help Us Redefine Contemporary ABA
Emergent is a BCBA-owned, privately held, clinician-led organization committed to advancing ABA ethically, scientifically, and with long-term impact. No private equity. No debt. No competing contingencies, just clinicians leading the field.
We are expanding into the Greater Santa Barbara Area, and we’re seeking a BCBA / Center Director who is ready to lead both clinically and culturally. This role is ideal for a clinician who wants more than a caseload, someone who wants to shape a center, mentor a team, and help build something beautiful from the ground up.
Our work is grounded in ACT- and RFT-informed practices, client dignity, and deep respect for families and staff alike. Think: rigorous data analysis and human warmth. Clinical excellence and fairy lights.
Whether you’re stepping out of corporate ABA or ready for your first center leadership role, this is an opportunity to grow with intention.
What You’ll Do
You’ll serve as both a BCBA and Center Director, balancing direct clinical oversight with leadership, mentorship, and program development.
Clinical Oversight & Direct Services
- Serve as the primary clinical guide for a caseload of learners (children and adolescents with autism and related developmental disabilities)
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (indirect, direct, and experimental)
- Administer skills assessments (language, play, social, adaptive skills)
- Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention plans
- Review and analyze data weekly to guide programming decisions
- Ensure ethical, compassionate, and effective service delivery across cases
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor BCBAs, RBTs, and behavior technicians
- Provide ongoing performance feedback, coaching, and professional development
- Foster a collaborative, values-aligned team culture
- Support staff retention by creating an environment where clinicians feel seen and supported
What Makes You a Strong Fit
- You are values-driven, organized, and comfortable holding both leadership and compassion
- You love data and notice the meaningful moments that don’t always show up on a graph
- You hold high standards for dignity, ethics, and clinical quality
- You’re excited by the idea of building and growing a program, not just maintaining one
- You lead with curiosity, humility, and a commitment to learning
Qualifications
- Current BCBA certification (required)
- Master’s degree in ABA, Psychology, Special Education, or related field
- Experience working with individuals with autism and/or developmental disabilities
- Prior leadership, supervision, or program development experience strongly preferred
- Strong skills in functional assessment, VB-based instruction, and skill acquisition programming
- Tech-savvy (data systems, Microsoft Office, graphs, tablets)
- Reliable transportation and willingness to work across clinic, home, school, and community settings
- Availability for some evening or weekend hours as needed
Pay, Perks & Schedule
Compensation:
- Part-time: hourly pay ranging from $50-$55 per hour
