We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care for animals in a veterinary clinic setting. As an Animal Care Assistant, you will support veterinarians and technicians in delivering exceptional care to our patients.
Duties
- Assist with the daily care of animals, including feeding, exercising and overall care.
- Perform animal restraint techniques safely and effectively during examinations and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including animal housing areas.
- Monitor animal health by observing behavior and reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Support veterinary staff with procedures such as animal catheterization and general care.
- Handle dogs and other animals with care to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Assist at the front desk as needed, providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques, including dog and cat handling and restraint methods.
- Familiarity with basic animal physiology and husbandry practices is beneficial.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical stamina, including lifting animals when necessary.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and pet owners.
