Staff Accountant, Accounts Payable

Compensation Range: $65,000 - $75,000

Emergency Physicians Professional Association (EPPA) was founded in 1969 and is owned and governed by its participating physicians. We take pride in our culture of mutual respect and camaraderie. Our physician group teams more than 300 board-certified emergency physicians and advanced practice clinicians (APCs), including physician assistants and nurse practitioners, to provide expert emergency care efficiently and effectively. Our providers staff hospital emergency departments across the Twin Cities, St. Cloud, and rural Minnesota. We also own and staff our four Twin Cities Metro Urgency Room locations.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing accounts payable operations to ensure the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, resolve discrepancies, and maintain complete and reliable accounting records. The role also supports the preparation of journal entries and monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts, including accounts receivable and accruals. In addition, you will apply established accounting principles and procedures to prepare accurate financial reports and statements while ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related degree with accounting/finance emphasis preferred
• Minimum 2 years’ accounts payable experience
• Mathematical and data entry skills to process invoice payments and problem-solve
• Experience with accounting practices and concepts
• Great attention to detail and confidentiality
• Must be highly organized and possess excellent planning and time management skills
• Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts
• Knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics accounting system and Management Reporter financial reporting system, a plus
• Knowledge of KwikTag Accounts Payable Automation Solution, a plus

Summary

This role requires a detail-oriented professional with integrity, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and a customer service mindset. Partnering with the finance and accounting team, this position will oversee vendor invoice processing, reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of accurate financial records and statements. The Staff Accountant will also ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal controls, support audits, and contribute to month-end and year-end close processes. Success in this role depends on the ability to manage multiple priorities, resolve discrepancies efficiently, and maintain high standards of accuracy and professionalism in financial operations.
