What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Technician position at Emergency Medical Services Authority?
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains complete and accurate inventory and asset control. Manage records for medical equipment and supplies including exchanged items in those locations where first responder items are pooled.
- Inventory and restock medical equipment and supply in stockroom and on ambulances.
- Issues required supplies and equipment to appropriate Team Members and maintains inventory of items.
- Inspect, clean, and repair medical equipment as required.
- Completes records and reports in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoots medical equipment and ensures proper safeguarding of equipment and supplies.
- Maintains a safe and clean work area.
- Drive an ambulance, non-emergency, to pickup EMS equipment left at hospitals, as well as moving ambulances on EMSA premises.
Qualification Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail to maintain accurate inventory counts.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Accurate auditing and recording of assets.
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and through radio and telephone communications.
- Understanding of medical equipment with ability to learn new material.
- Ability to lift medical equipment and supplies weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with Team Members.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Current state driver’s license..
- Previous experience with maintaining inventory and counts preferred.
- Experience in a medical setting preferred.
