Role Description This is a full-time Millwright role based in Rahway, NJ, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some tasks to be completed from home when appropriate. The Millwright will install, align, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and mechanical systems for a variety of client industries. Day-to-day work includes reading blueprints and schematics, assembling and disassembling machinery, performing precision alignments, and using hand and power tools to complete mechanical and structural tasks. The role involves conducting routine inspections, diagnosing mechanical issues, and coordinating repairs to reduce downtime and support safe, efficient operations. The Millwright will collaborate with shop staff, engineers, and customers, documenting work performed and adhering to company and industry safety procedures at all times.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Preventive Maintenance, including scheduled inspections, lubrication, and component replacement to reduce equipment failures.
- Proven ability in Troubleshooting mechanical and industrial systems, identifying root causes, and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Hands-on experience in Maintenance & Repair of industrial machinery, including installation, alignment, and overhaul of mechanical components.
- Proficient use of Power Tools (e.g., grinders, drills, impact wrenches) and Hand Tools (e.g., wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators) in a shop and field environment.
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Knowledge of machining, welding, or fabrication processes; CNC or precision welding exposure is a plus.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including lockout/tagout procedures and safe rigging and lifting practices.
- Ability to work on-site at customer locations, occasionally in demanding industrial environments, and to travel locally as needed.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to document work clearly and interact professionally with clients.
- Relevant technical training, apprenticeship, or certification as a Millwright or Industrial Mechanic preferred; equivalent experience considered.
