What are the responsibilities and job description for the Workers' Compensation Paralegal position at EMERGE?
We are partnered with a Chicago Law Firm who is seeking a Workers' Compensation Paralegal who will play a key role in supporting attorneys throughout all phases of workers’ compensation matters. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with the management of workers’ compensation cases from intake through resolution
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including petitions, motions, settlement contracts, and correspondence
- Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel
- Obtain, review, and summarize medical records and bills
- Track case deadlines and ensure timely filings with the appropriate agencies
- Prepare files for hearings, depositions, and settlement conferences
- Maintain accurate and organized case files (electronic and physical)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of workers’ compensation paralegal experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation procedures and terminology
- Proficient speaking and writing in Spanish
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with FileVine case management software is a plus
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
