What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Director position at Emerge Healing Center?
About Emerge Healing Center
At Emerge Healing Center, we believe meaningful healing begins with compassion, connection, and a genuine commitment to helping people move forward. We are a mental health treatment program in Alpharetta, Georgia, offering Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) levels of care, with a specialized focus on PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
We strive to create an environment where clients feel safe, supported, and empowered in their healing journey. Just as importantly, we believe in investing in our team, fostering collaboration, and creating a workplace where clinicians feel valued and supported in the work they do.
About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, experienced, and motivated Clinical Director to lead our clinical team and help guide the continued growth of our PHP/IOP program. This person will play an important role in ensuring high-quality, evidence-based treatment while supporting the clinicians who make a meaningful difference in our clients' lives.
We are looking for someone who brings strong clinical judgment, thoughtful leadership, and genuine care to their work—someone who enjoys mentoring others, values collaboration, and is passionate about creating an environment where both clients and clinicians can thrive.
The ideal candidate is a natural leader who can balance clinical oversight, team development, and program quality while maintaining a client-centered approach to treatment.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the clinical operations of the PHP/IOP program, helping ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based mental health treatment.
- Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and support to therapists and other clinical team members, consistent with applicable licensure and supervision requirements.
- Oversee clinical assessments, individualized treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries to ensure documentation is timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate.
- Lead multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, case consultations, and clinical reviews to promote coordinated, effective client care.
- Monitor client progress, treatment effectiveness, and appropriateness of level of care, supporting transitions between PHP, IOP, and other services when clinically indicated.
- Oversee clinical risk management, including safety assessments, crisis intervention, safety planning, and coordination of higher levels of care when needed.
- Establish and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and treatment protocols that support ethical practice, consistent care, and positive treatment outcomes.
- Help ensure compliance with applicable state regulations, confidentiality requirements, accreditation standards, payer requirements, and organizational policies.
- Support admissions reviews, clinical assessments, and treatment recommendations to ensure services align with client needs and program capabilities.
- Participate in utilization review processes, and quality assurance activities to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with executive and operational leadership on staffing, program development, clinical initiatives, and continuous quality improvement.
- Help develop and strengthen therapeutic programming, including evidence-based approaches to PTSD, trauma-related conditions, and other mental health concerns.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and supportive clinical culture where team members feel encouraged to grow and clients receive thoughtful, individualized care.
What We're Looking For
- A master's degree or higher in Counseling, Clinical Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related mental health field.
- An active, independent Georgia clinical license appropriate for the position, such as LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist, subject to applicable program requirements.
- Previous clinical leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
- Experience working in a PHP, IOP, or other structured behavioral health treatment setting strongly preferred.
- Experience treating PTSD, trauma-related conditions, and other complex mental health needs preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- The ability to provide constructive feedback, support staff development, and build a positive, collaborative team culture.
- A commitment to ethical clinical practice, high-quality documentation, client safety, and continuous improvement.
