JOB TITLE: Lonsdale/West Area JustLead Ministry Director
REPORTS TO: Director of Area Ministries – Lonsdale/West
STATUS: Full-time, exempt
JOB SUMMARY: The Area JustLead Ministry Director is responsible for overseeing the implementation of JustLead in the Area, including identifying new collaborators needed, while directly implementing JustLead at a complex location.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
•Strategize with Area Director on ways to engage church partners and build relationships/connect churches to young people and their families – this may require some corporate church life gatherings at different times.
•Grow existing and develop new area/neighborhood/community relationships.
•Ensure target numbers of youth and young adults are comprehensively engaged in faith, learning, and health programs offered by Emerald Youth and/or partnering organizations.
•Identify constraints or leakage related to the Emerald Youth pipeline that could keep children, youth and
young adults from being comprehensively engaged or meeting outcomes. Seek solutions working
collaboratively with others to attempt and resolve issues so youth can move forward in ministry initiatives.
•Train staff to engage the congregations’ support, mobilizing them as volunteers in the programs. Ensures
staff receive other appropriate training and comply with organizational safety standards, including but not
limited to behavior and discipline, child ratios, transportations, CPR, first aid, waiver and medical forms are
received for trips, and maintenance of safety equipment and first aid supplies. Train staff in areas as needed
and serve in training role through Emerald University as needed.
•Ensure JustLead operations maintain sound fiscal management by ensuring operations comply with
organizational policies and procedures; and developing and maintaining operations related budgets for
assigned area and ensure budget compliance with direct reports that have spending authority. Submit
budget recommendations as required. Ensure team tracks and reports all data as required, provide
measurements as needed, and analyze reports to create improvement plans.
•Work closely with human resources in the selection process for new JustLead team members, including
interviewing identified top candidates. Create a culture for securing support from indigenous population in
both volunteering and employment, and manage HR systems in the area.
•Manage additional projects and tasks and participate with groups and committees as assigned.

- Approve Afterschool/Summer program plans; supervise Afterschool/Summer Coordinator
- Create mid-week youth worship experiences, partnering with neighborhood churches, and make intergenerational as possible (eventually grow to all ages as capacity available); supervise Youth Ministry Coordinator.
- Develop neighborhood youth recruitment plan; direct and participate in implementation.
- Develop staff and volunteer HR map and recruitment plan; direct and engage in implementation (include recruitment of parents); work to retain staff and volunteers.
- Teach and model personal devotional times with young people outside of small groups.
- Drive neighborhood youth participants to App and help provide content.
- Organize and lead neighborhood participants in individual and group Christian service opportunities inside and outside local community.
- Provide opportunities for youth leadership within the ministry including in worship, facilitating small groups and other activities with younger children, etc.
- Host and attend events with neighborhood participants such as camps, city-wide worship, Christian concerts and movies, and other EY activities (include parents).
- Work to connect young people to church congregations in Area.
- Organize and participate in prayer walks for the ministry site, neighborhood, and neighborhood schools.
- Conduct Lunch Visits and Youth and Family Contacts with neighborhood participants.
- Help neighborhood participants connect with EY Sports programming; support campus FCA huddles and character coach program.
- Help high school participants connect with Calling and Career and transition into young adulthood maintaining contact as necessary.
- Provide transportation for program and other events as needed; acquire/maintain a CDL.
•For other JustLead programs in area, supervise the implementation of the above responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•Dedicated Christian with clear knowledge of the Gospel and a passion for the mission of Emerald Youth
Foundation; connected to a church community; possesses a strong reputation for honesty, integrity, and high
moral standards.
•Bachelor’s degree in related field, minimum
•3-5 years’ program management experience; able to develop, mobilize, and motivate teams including
volunteers.
•Experience managing people.
•Experience developing, refining, evaluating and sustaining programming.
•Knowledge of Knoxville, its neighborhoods, and demographics; well networked with city and community
organizations.
•Demonstrated organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks and strong project
management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable success and program
growth.
•Proficient in using technology as a management reporting and communication tools.
•Excellent written and oral communication skills and business acumen.
•Ability to achieve results under pressure and meet deadlines.
•Good driving record. Ability and willingness to obtain CDL with P endorsement and drive large
vehicles/buses.
•Experience seeking and forming partnerships.
