Emerald Youth Foundation has paid, part-time positions available this school year starting as soon as August 4, 2025 serving in their afterschool programs.These are available through the AmeriCorps program and a great opportunity to make a big difference in your life and in the lives of city young people in Knoxville. It is not employment but national service, and if you have a practicum or internship to fulfill for school, it can count towards that.
BENEFITS:
- GET PAID UP TO $9,450 (called a living allowance) and serve 15-20 hours afterschool each week.
- RECEIVE TRAINING through Emerald Youth University and participate in fun, team-building activities.
- EARN A SCHOLARSHIP OF UP TO $2,817 (called an education award) to pay tuition or student loans.
- ADD VALUABLE SERVICE EXPERIENCE to your resume.
There are 3 kinds of AmeriCorps positions available afterschool with Emerald Youth this year and position options range from semester only to the full school year. Ideal availability are between the hours of 2:00 and 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday:
- General Afterschool Role - Lead varying structured learning and enrichment activities afterschool with elementary or middle school students.
- Learning Role - Perfect for aspiring teachers and/or to fulfill a teaching practicum. Facilitate components of and implement incentives for elementary and middle school students as part of the on-site computer learning lab.
- RecSports Role - Perfect for those interested in sports, health, and fitness. Plan and implement structured health and recreational activities for both elementary and middle school students.
