Front End Supervisor

Emerald Transportation Solutions is seeking an experienced Front-End Supervisor to lead our Body Assembly team. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing the assembly process from initial body assembly through mounts, wiring, and front-end installation. The ideal candidate has a strong automotive body background, solid mechanical aptitude, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Candidates with welding and fabrication experience are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily operations of the Body Assembly department, ensuring production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are met.
• Lead assembly processes from body assembly through mounts, wiring, and front-end component installation.
• Provide strong leadership by coaching, mentoring, and developing employees while fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment.
• Effectively communicate production goals, expectations, and performance feedback to team members and management.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to resolve issues and maintain workflow.
• Monitor productivity, staffing, and work quality to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot assembly issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Enforce company safety policies and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Assist with hands-on assembly work as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive body assembly, truck body manufacturing, or a related industry.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required.
• Strong knowledge of automotive body construction, mounting systems, wiring, and mechanical assembly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively lead, motivate, and develop employees.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn manufacturing or ERP software.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• MIG welding experience.
• Metal fabrication experience.
• Experience with commercial vehicles, truck bodies, trailers, or specialty vehicle manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to safely operate shop equipment and tools.
