Key Responsibilities

The Field Service Technician performs testing, analysis, and servicing of power distribution equipment at commercial and industrial sites. This role supports both field and facility operations and requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

• Safely handle and dispose of oils, solvents, and other liquid compounds in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Utilize hand tools and pneumatic equipment for mechanical tasks and repairs.
• Ability to operate cutting torch to cut metal parts.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to support shop and field activities.
• Ability to extract oil samples from transformers and reseal units to prevent future leaks.
• Maintain accountability for all tools and equipment within assigned work areas.
• Travel throughout the Emerald Transformer service territory to perform field service work; overnight stays near customer sites are required.
• Must be willing to work overtime. May be asked to work on weekend assignments as operational needs dictate.
• Work requires close interaction with other associates. Must be able to function in a team-oriented environment.
• When field service is not scheduled, perform assigned duties at the home facility as directed by the Field Service Manager.
• Work with another field crew may also be assigned as needed. This assignment can be with/for any entity within Emerald Transformer.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and clients during service interactions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized worksite at all times, adhering to company safety protocols and standards.
  
  

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

The ideal candidate will embody the following characteristics and possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

• Honest, trustworthy and reliable.
• Hardworking.
• Physical ability to perform heavy work, exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50lbs force frequently.
• Valid US Driver's license is preferred.
• Comfortable working in extreme heat and cold.
• Comfortable working in high voltage working environment.
• Ability to use basic hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
