About the Role
Emerald Motors is seeking a hands-on, working Shop Foreman / Service Manager who is an experienced automotive technician with strong diagnostic skills. This role is for someone who can both lead the shop and turn wrenches when needed, especially on complex diagnostic and comeback jobs.
You will set the technical and operational standard in the shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of the service department
- Act as a working foreman and assist with diagnostics and repairs as needed
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues
- Dispatch and prioritize technician work orders
- Perform final quality control inspections before vehicle delivery
- Reduce comebacks and ensure repairs are done right the first time
- Mentor technicians and assist with difficult jobs
- Monitor productivity, efficiency, and turnaround time
- Coordinate with parts and service advisors
- Maintain shop safety, cleanliness, and organization
- Ensure accurate repair orders and documentation
Required Qualifications
- 5 years hands-on automotive technician experience
- Proven experience as a Shop Foreman, Lead Technician, or Service Manager
- Strong diagnostic ability (electrical, drivability, CAN systems)
- Comfortable performing repairs and diagnostics when required
- Ability to lead technicians while remaining technically involved
- Dealership or high-volume independent shop experience preferred
- ASE certifications strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license
