What You’ll Do
As an Emerald Home Care Care Companions, you’ll support clients in their homes with day-to-day needs, companionship, and safety oversight.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, toileting
- Providing light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation
- Running errands and assisting with shopping or transportation
- Providing medication reminders only (no administration)
- Supporting mobility, safe transfers, and range of motion exercises
- Observing, documenting, and reporting any changes in condition
- Ensuring a safe and clean home environment
- Participating in activities that bring clients joy puzzles, reading, walks, conversation, and games
- Maintaining professional boundaries and client confidentiality
A Few Must-Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum six (6) months of caregiving or healthcare experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- Compassionate, professional, and dependable
- Good communicator with strong documentation skills
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist clients safely
- Must pass a background check and reference screening
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
