Title: Assistant Grower, Vegetable Department
Reports to: Greenhouse Manager
Positions to Fill: 1
Full-Time; evenings and weekends as needed
Pay is commensurate with experience
Benefits: Vacation and monthly health allowance
Requirements:
· Must exhibit competency in propagation and growing
· Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs
· Must enjoy working outdoors
· Preferably able to operate equipment such as truck or forklift – will train
· Desire to learn
· In season, must possess ability to manage the propagation and growing of vegetable plants for sale on a weekly basis
· Out of season, must possess ability to support company efforts in some construction and greenhouse maintenance.
Duties include, but not limited to:
· Irrigation
· EC/pH checks
· Scouting for pests and disease
· Pesticide application
· Manage greenhouse labor in tasks such as planting, pruning, cleaning, order-fulfillment
Desired Experience and Training:
· 2 years’ experience working in a greenhouse
· 2 years’ experience managing labor
· Bachelor’s or Associates’ Degree in Horticulture
· Background in vegetable plant production
· Experience in seed and plug production
· Forklift Trained
· Box Truck Trained
· English and Spanish fluency
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
