The Role
Emerald Environmental is seeking a dedicated, full-time Waste/Yard Coordinator to join our team in Kent, Ohio. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental to the success of our waste handling and transportation operations. You will oversee yard operations and ensure that our processes are safe, efficient, and compliant with all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety & Compliance: Execute all work safely and in strict adherence to OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations, as well as internal company policies.
- Operations Coordination: Manage systems and processes related to industrial waste recycling and management.
- Material Handling: Safely load/unload containers of industrial waste, including drums, tankers, and roll-off boxes.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and maintain an adequate supply inventory, ordering materials as necessary.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure the facility and yard remain safe, clean, and highly organized at all times.
- Collaborative Support: Perform additional duties as directed by the Waste Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is highly advantageous.
- Industry Experience: Proven experience working with industrial waste (both hazardous and non-hazardous). Background in the industrial or environmental services sector is strongly preferred.
- Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating forklifts, bobcats, hand dollies, and similar equipment to move drums and heavy machinery.
- Licensing: A valid Class-A or B CDL is ideal but not required.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to perform essential physical tasks, including lifting moderate loads and utilizing equipment for heavy lifting.
- Technical Skills: Comfortable using basic applications on smartphones and tablets, alongside proficiency in core computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email).
