Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental examinations, including patient assessment and diagnosis using medical imaging and dental terminology.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans covering procedures such as dental restorations, extractions, endodontics (root canal therapy), prosthodontics, orthodontics, and oral surgery.
- Conduct dental procedures adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Utilize dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix to document medical records accurately and maintain compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and post-treatment care instructions to ensure understanding and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with dental hygienists, assistants, and other team members to provide efficient four-handed dentistry procedures that enhance patient comfort and treatment quality.
- Stay current with advancements in general dentistry, including dental implants, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, and oral surgery techniques.
- Maintain high standards of infection control and adhere to all healthcare diagnosis protocols while ensuring the safety of both patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Valid state dental license with eligibility to practice general dentistry.
- Proven experience in dental office or clinic environments demonstrating proficiency in general dentistry procedures.
- Knowledge of dental software systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for medical documentation and record keeping.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and healthcare diagnosis processes.
- Experience performing dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and oral surgery procedures.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws governing patient privacy and medical documentation.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients on treatment plans effectively.
