Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Emerald Court is a dedicated memory care community serving individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. We are looking for compassionate, dependable Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.
As a CNA at Emerald Court, you’ll provide hands-on care while helping residents maintain their dignity, independence, comfort, and quality of life. You’ll become part of a close-knit team that values kindness, patience, teamwork, and treating every resident like a person—not a diagnosis.
What You’ll Do
- Provide personal care and daily living assistance based on each resident’s needs.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meals, mobility, and transfers.
- Provide compassionate support to residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
- Observe and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, and behavioral condition.
- Assist with repositioning, mobility, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Support medication aides and nursing staff as directed.
- Follow individualized care plans and established safety procedures.
- Build positive relationships with residents and their families.
- Participate as part of a team to provide consistent, high-quality care.
- Maintain resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
What We’re Looking For
- Current Nebraska CNA certification in good standing.
- Previous experience in memory care, dementia care, assisted living, or long-term care is preferred, but not required.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to care for older adults.
- Dependability and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to safely assist residents with mobility, transfers, and other physical care needs.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant, recognized by the State Board of Nursing.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, including abuse & neglect
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and senior care best practices.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease is advantageous.
- Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner; familiarity with EHR systems is a plus.
- Certifications in CPR and First Aid are required; additional training in hospice care or acute care is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and maintain physical stamina for long shifts involving manual handling tasks.
- Strong communication skills combined with a compassionate caregiving approach that respects resident dignity and promotes quality of life.
