Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate FAMILY MEDICINE / INTERNAL MEDICINE — Part-Time (Contingent) physician to join our integrated care team. This role offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care to adult patients, including veterans served through VA Community Care, while functioning as a trusted front door to coordinated specialty care. Estimated commitment is up to 5 hours per month, with volume expected to increase in accordance with VA contract referral activity. The position is contingent upon payer contracting and credentialing, and is ideal for clinicians eager to make a meaningful impact while working flexible hours.

Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and health evaluations for adult and veteran populations
• Manage acute and chronic illnesses, providing appropriate treatment plans aligned with best practices in family medicine and internal medicine
• Collaborate closely with behavioral health, spine, and interventional care teams, and with patients' families, to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive support
• Utilize the practice electronic health record (EHR) to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, and coordinate referrals to specialty care, ensuring precise diagnosis and treatment pathways
• Provide preventive care, immunizations, and health education to promote long-term wellness
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations, safety protocols, and documentation standards while delivering high-quality patient care

Skills

• Proven experience in family medicine or internal medicine with post-residency clinical practice preferred
• Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation and patient management
• Strong knowledge of healthcare diagnosis, medical terminology, and physiology across a broad range of primary care presentations
• Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines, including behavioral health and spine/interventional care
• Experience in outpatient/clinic settings; integrated or multi-specialty experience highly valued
• Familiarity with coordinating diagnostic imaging and specialty referrals as part of the diagnostic process
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and data security; familiarity with CPT coding is a plus
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients of diverse backgrounds, including veterans and military families
• Ability to adapt in a growing practice while maintaining attention to detail in documentation and patient care

Contingency Notice

This position is contingent upon (1) the practice's VA Community Care Network contract becoming effective, and (2) the candidate's successful credentialing and approval through the applicable VA and Optum CCN networks. No engagement is effective, and no hours are guaranteed, until both conditions are satisfied.
