What are the responsibilities and job description for the Donor Engagement Specialist position at Emerald Coast Children's Advocacy Center?
This is a full-time position at our Niceville Facility, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Flexibility is essential, as the position requires occasional after-hours, weekend, and event availability.
Position Summary
The Donor Engagement Specialist plays a key role in advancing the mission of the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center (ECCAC) by cultivating meaningful relationships with donors, community partners, and supporters. This position focuses on donor engagement, stewardship, funding opportunities and fostering a positive giving experience that strengthens long-term commitment to ECCAC’s work of protecting and caring for child abuse victims.
The Donor Engagement Specialist works closely with the CEO and team to support fundraising goals, enhance donor retention, and ensure donors feel valued and informed about the impact of their generosity.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Engagement and Stewardship
- Build and maintain positive, mission-centered relationships with donors at all giving levels.
- Ensure timely, heartfelt donor acknowledgments, thank-you letters, and follow-up communication.
- Coordinate stewardship touchpoints such as impact updates, donor spotlights, tours, and appreciation events.
- Maintain high standards of hospitality and donor care at all times.
- Identify opportunities for donor re-engagement and increased involvement.
- Manage integrity of donor database.
- Maintain donor activity in donor database.
- Meet and/or exceed annual fundraising goals
- Identify, research, cultivate and solicit new donors, re-engage lapse donors
Communications and Storytelling
- Collaborate with team members to highlight program outcomes, children served, and mission impact while maintaining confidentiality.
- Support production of the annual impact report and fundraising collateral.
Community Partnerships & Outreach
- Engage with community organizations, businesses, civic groups, and volunteers to strengthen ECCAC’s presence.
- Represent ECCAC at community events, presentations, and partner meetings when or appropriate.
- Support cultivation of new donors and relationships in Okaloosa and Walton Counties.
Additional responsibilities
- Generate monthly development reports for CEO and Board of Directors
- Develop comprehensive working knowledge of all Center programs
- Any and all duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Level II Background check, – will be subject prior to employment and clearance
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher Education
- Five or more years of experience in consultative business development and/or non-profit fundraising·
- Five or more years of customer management service experience·
- Must have a Valid Driver's License
- Passion for ECCAC’s mission and a deep commitment to serving children and families.
- Proven success in fundraising, meeting goals
- Experience in fundraising, donor relations, customer service, communications, or related field preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
