Role Description
The Network and Systems Integrator position requires a network centric skillset to enable the Integrator to perform configuration, troubleshooting, and commissioning of networked Technical Security Systems (TSS) at US Embassies and Consulates overseas, to include enterprise scale Layer 2 and 3 Networks (comprised of Routers, Switches, Firewalls), Automated Access Control Systems, Alarm Systems, Emergency Notification Systems, IP Cameras and Video Management Systems, and Environmental/Power Monitoring Systems. The Systems Integrator operates in a fast-paced environment, acts as a technical subject matter expert, and is a critical component in the enhancement of the security posture of our Embassies and Consulates overseas.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate and apply configurations to a robust network of switches, firewalls and routers
- Configure networked security equipment and applications
- Learn, understand, and be able to configure new systems as technology evolves
- Provide remote troubleshooting and technical support to installation technicians in the field
- Adhere to standards and commissioning procedures while performing configurations
- Understand and follow project designs/schematics
- Complete required project documentation and ensure project as-builts are accurate
- International Travel 50-75%
QUALIFICIATIONS
Required Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Understanding of Basic Windows Operating System Tasks (regedit, cmd prompt, tasks, UNC paths)
- Active Directory and DNS
- Command Line Interface
- SSH and Telnet Clients
- Understanding IP Subnetting and Network Topologies
- Device Configuration via Web GUI
- Cable Terminations (Cat5/6, Fiber)
- Installation and Configuration of Software Applications
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or Engineering (i.e., Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Networks, Automation, Robotics, etc...) (May potentially be substituted with relative integration experience and relevant certifications)
Desired/Relevant Certifications:
- Cisco Networking Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)
- CompTIA Network , Security Certification
- Juniper Networking Certifications (JNCIA, JNCIE)
- Software House CCure 9000 Certification
- Any Enterprise Video Management System Certification
Work Location: Alexandria, VA. Full Time. Must be able to work onsite daily, telework is not available. Position requires approximately 50-75% travel overseas. 40-hour weeks when domestic, 60-hour weeks when deployed overseas.
Citizenship/Passport/Security Clearance: The candidate must be a US citizen and must be eligible to obtain and maintain (or actively hold) a SECRET clearance.
Additional Requirements: The government is requiring significant medical screening/examinations/testing for this position. Candidates will receive a contingent offer based on successful completion of government medical requirements.
