EMCS serves public and private clients in a variety of small and large-scale projects. The company was founded in 1983 and has offices in Milwaukee, Wausau, and Madison, Wisconsin; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Bergland, Michigan.
We are looking for an experienced structural engineer that is interested in developing their skills designing and detailing bridges and other infrastructure projects throughout multiple states in the Midwest. Responsibilities include:
- Complete the design calculations and plan preparation for both new bridge, bridge rehabilitation, and retaining wall projects in alignment with applicable design standards and specifications.
- Perform in person site visits and inspections of existing bridges and culverts and prepare and submit required reports.
- Complete concept development and perform bridge sizing of proposed structures.
- Complete quantity computations, cost estimates, and special provisions required for structures projects.
- Complete bridge load ratings.

Requirements
- BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
- 4-8 years of bridge design experience including structural design of local, highway, and interchange bridges and ancillary structures
- Indiana PE license, or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Prior project experience with INDOT and Indiana counties
- Proficient in AASHTO LRFD design of bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other ancillary transportation structures
- Knowledge of MicroStation/AutoCAD and specialized bridge design software?(HEC-RAS, AASHTOWare BrR, CANDE, MathCAD, Midas)
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
