Job Description
- Demonstrate comprehension of instructions from supervisors and coworkers.
- Perform inspection and repair of company equipment, showcasing good troubleshooting skills.
- Conduct inspections and repairs of overhead cranes, hand tools, and power tools as needed.
- Manage 55-gallon oil drums and repair utility air lines in the shop.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment like boring mills-drills and lathes.
- Verify equipment operation before placing it in service.
- Carry out building and facility maintenance tasks, including electrical work.
- Fix trucks, cherry pickers, and/or fork lifts as assigned.
- Perform maintenance/repairs on air impacts, roll motors, etc.
Equipment/Clothing Used to Perform Job
- Protective equipment: gloves, safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, goggles, and respiratory protection as required.
- Assorted long and short handled tools.
- Tool cart.
- Full set of mechanic tools.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two years of related experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, plumbing, carpentry, air conditioning, blue-print reading, N/C controls, electrical wiring, and machinist skills.
- Knowledge of fabrication shop practices.
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings.
- Accurately read and interpret measuring devices.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Competence in using Excel, Word, Outlook, and Filemaker.
