Job Title: Furniture Handler (GAO)
Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Furniture Handler in Washington, DC. The scheduled work hours are: 7:15 AM - 4 PM. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Receiving Unit Supervisor with organizing daily tasks to include, receiving deliveries and distribute materials and office supplies
- Assist with moving furniture and other handling of materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Assist with IT deliveries and with bar coding the new IT property
- Support set up of new GAO employee workstations and internal moves
- Perform daily set up of conference rooms.
- Perform Quality Control checks on service requests pertaining to the Receiving Unit to make sure of accuracy.
- Assist GAO Mail Room with receiving FedEx and UPS Deliveries via security scanning equipment in the Mail Room.
- Log the packages into the GAO RUIS system, print signature sheets and assign RU staff member to deliver packages.
- File paperwork according to GAO policy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Must have at least one year experience safely utilizing handheld pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and furniture moving equipment.

Operators of the pallet jacks shall require certification.
