Position Summary
The Manager Quality is responsible for the overall Quality of the EAMS Organization, which includes the Safety Management System (SMS), Quality Assurance Department, Quality Control Department, and Maintenance Training Department. The Manager Quality is the primary liaison with all national regulatory agencies, (FAA, EASA, ANAC, BCAA, etc.) to draft and submit regulatory certification applications, supplements, and revisions to the repair station’s manuals / operations specifications that are required by the various national regulatory agencies.
Job Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The Manager Quality is responsible for the overall Quality of the EAMS Organization, which includes the Safety Management System (SMS), Quality Assurance Department, Quality Control Department, and Maintenance Training Department. The Manager Quality is the primary liaison with all national regulatory agencies, (FAA, EASA, ANAC, BCAA, etc.) to draft and submit regulatory certification applications, supplements, and revisions to the repair station’s manuals / operations specifications that are required by the various national regulatory agencies.
Job Responsibilities
- Main accountable person to the FAA for repair station, as listed on the Operational Specifications.
- Manage the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Manage the Safety Management System (SMS) program to ensure Flight Safety.
- Establishment of the organization’s SMS Flight Safety objectives and targets.
- Overall responsibility for Quality Control of the EAMS organization, including oversight of Chief Inspectors and quality control inspection group.
- Execute national regulatory agency forms, as required, on behalf of the repair station.
- Revise EAMS Operations Specifications for EAMS Air Agency Certificate 1MBR176B.
- Communicate and collaborate directly with Customer’s Quality Department regarding the drafting and approval of Airworthiness Agreements (AWA) or Quality Assurance Agreements (QAA).
- Participate in investigations associated with Voluntary Disclosure Reporting Program (VDRP) non-compliance issues and submit self-disclosures to the FAA.
- Revise repair station regulatory manuals and submit for regulatory acceptance / approval.
- Facilitate audits performed by external entities.
- Manage Corrective Action Reports (CAR) program to identify quality problems and bring about their prompt, satisfactory resolution via an effective RCCA process.
- Responsible for ensuring that technical publications are current and made available to personnel working within all EAMS repair station sites.
- Ensure that all internal and external vendor audits are completed, as required.
- Directs the performance of “self-audits” of internal quality systems, at the request of the Customer.
- Analyzes and interprets quality data in order to develop methods, procedures, and systems to improve Quality Assurance and Quality Control performance.
- Overall responsibility for the repair station Maintenance Training Department.
- Develop and track Quality KPI’s for the repair station.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- FAA Airframe and Power Plant Certificate – Preferred
- B.S. Degree in Aerospace Management – Preferred
- 10 years – Aircraft MRO Quality experience - Preferred
- 5 years Quality Assurance / Auditor experience
- 5 years as “Chief Inspector” for a Part 145 Repair Station
- High level knowledge of National Aviation Regulations, FAA, EASA, TCCA, ANAC, etc...
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements / SMS related to MRO operations/Advanced knowledge of 14 CFR Part 145 Quality Systems and Organization
- Knowledgeable in the use of computers and the programs consistent with the position
- Must work in a safe, professional manner in adherence to OSHA, EPA, FAA, and federal/state regulations.
- Position is subject to FAA regulated random drug and alcohol testing.
- Must maintain confidentiality of company information, proprietary data, and employee matters.
- Must meet work schedule commitments and support operational demands as required.

- Demonstrate strong knowledge of Embraer’s P3E and other continuous improvement methodologies.
