What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at Embrace with Care Corp?
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Must successfully clear an OSBI background check.
· Must be in good physical condition to meet job demands.
· Minimum of three personal character references.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Valid driver’s license, current motor vehicle insurance and reliable transportation
· Previous experience as a Habilitation Training Specialist (HTS) is preferred.
Accountability:
The HTS reports to the Program Coordinator, House Manager, or designated family member and is responsible for providing ongoing, direct care services to the individuals we support.
Job Responsibilities:
General Duties:
· Adhere to all agency policies, procedures, and legal commitments to individuals as required by the State of Oklahoma.
· Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure smooth home operations and effective program implementation.
· Attend all mandatory staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development programs.
· Actively participate in individual plans of care, including annual meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions.
· Serve as a consistent advocate for the individuals we support.
Documentation & Compliance:
· Accurately complete all required documentation in compliance with agency policies and state contractual standards.
· Document incidents promptly using approved state and company forms within required timeframes.
Medication Management:
· Administer prescribed medications accurately and on time, following all training protocols, the plan of care, and doctor’s orders.
Daily Support & Activities:
· Provide personalized, meaningful activities and programs in the home and community to enhance quality of life.
· Plan, organize, supervise, and assist individuals in implementing activities outlined in their plan of care, behavioral plan, or other established programs.
· Provide safe and reliable transportation for community-based activities.
Home & Safety Management:
· Assist individuals in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly home environment. This includes general housekeeping, property upkeep, and grounds maintenance as needed or required.
· Follow all agency emergency protocols, including procedures for tornadoes, fire, severe weather, accidents, and other critical incidents.
Family & Guardian Collaboration:
· Work collaboratively with parents/guardians, promoting understanding and implementation of the principles of normalization when interacting with individuals.

· Ensure all duties are performed with care, respect, and dedication to the individuals served.
Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
