What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adoption Therapist position at EmberHope?
To be a successful Adoption Therapist you must become able to do the following always:
- Ensure a trauma informed focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for staff and those served through knowledge, sensitivity, respect, and a focus on resilience and recovery.
- Support children, youth, and families who achieve adoption by providing therapeutic support to a family who is waiting for community services to begin or if there is an immediate therapeutic need that should be addressed to assist with the child safely remaining in the home.
- Provide short-term, adoption-specific intensive services therapy for pre-adoptive children and post-adoption higher-risk families.
- Participate in Training for Adoption Competency (T.A.C.). T.A.C., a nationally accredited assessment-based certificate program for adoption competency.
- Provide ongoing clinical services and serve as a member of the clinical team, participate in clinical supervision.
- Provide clinical consultation and training.
- Carry a mixed caseload of pre-adoptive children to assist with adoption preparation and post-adoption higher-risk families.
- Complete progress notes and other written documentation in accordance with company protocol.
- Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Company’s Program Practice Guidelines.
