To be a successful Campus RN you must you must be willing and become able to do the following always:
1. Monitor PRTF clients who are part of an emergency safety intervention to ensure they are safe and healthy both during and after the intervention.
2. Perform and document health assessments, assist with medication passes and monitor and document health and vital signs of clients using a trauma informed approach focused on resilience and recovery.
3. Provide consultation to staff regarding emergency and non-emergency medical and medication needs.
4. Conduct health education groups for clients.
5. Assist Campus Nurse in overseeing the medication program.
6. Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Employee Handbook and Residential Nursing Guide.
7. Meet medication error goal for the campus.
How you will spend your time in this job within the boundaries of the nursing license:
- 60% Client Health Education and Monitoring
- 10% Medication Administration
- 10% Restraint and Seclusion Monitoring
- 10% Documentation
- 5% Participation in supervision, committees, and staff meetings
- 5% On call rotation
Flexibility and Conditions of Employment Schedule:
The hours for this position include being available to remotely cover for our full-time registered nurse on staff. Her position is Monday-Friday 1st shift. She will take approximately 20-30 paid days off a year and needs someone to be available for calls from the LPN's who are covering the needs of our residential youth clients, and for medication management or approvals when she is away. This person may also be on call for emergency evenings or weekends to respond remotely.
Emberhope Residential is willing to also consider candidates who want more hours than those listed above. Considerations would be: Working on site at either Goddard or Newton to help provide coverage for when the RN, or LPNs are on paid time off.
To qualify for this job, you need to have:
1. At least 21 years of age.
2. Licensed Registered Nurse by the State of Kansas.
3. Associates degree in Nursing from accredited school, required. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from accredited school, preferred. Pediatric, school or residential nursing experience preferred.
4. The ability to write and use a computer.
5. Ability to travel, driving a company or personal vehicle including at night.
6. Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, including up stairs, and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to complete an emergency safety intervention as trained. Ability to be subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally and inside conditions frequently.
